What if I don’t own an overlocker/ serger/ coverstitch machine?

You don’t need to worry here! All D & S patterns are designed for use with sewing machines. The pictorials shown on the website are all sewn with sewing machines, in order to be user-friendly for all our sewists (don’t forget- there was once a time where these didn’t exist!).

We provide stitch recommendations in all sewing instructions. So, whether you are using a sewing machine, serger or coverstitch machine, you will find you can sew a D & S pattern easily.

How do I know if I can sew a Drape & Stitch pattern?

3. Advanced: A thorough understanding of more complex sewing construction. May be able to draft patterns, drape, work with tricky fabrics, and alter and adjust garments with complex techniques.

Do you sell gift certificates?

Aren’t you a lovely friend! 😊 Yes, Drape & Stitch gift certificates can be purchased here.

What fabric do you use for Drape & Stitch patterns?

The sample pieces displayed, as well as tester pieces, come from a vast array of fabric suppliers. Where possible, we will list the fabric used for the garment displayed and the place of purchase.

Due to the fast turnover nature of fabric, especially those that are seasonal, it may not always be possible to find the exact same fabric.

Do not despair! We have your back- considering every Drape & Stitch pattern is designed with versatility in mind, we are sure you will find a host of fabrics suitable for every pattern.

How do I adjust or alter my pattern?

We all come in a fabulous range of shapes and sizes! We try to cater to as many of these as possible. If you find that fabulous you needs to tweak a D & S pattern, there are guides for making adjustments in each pattern.

We also recommend simply grading between sizes if required, or if to suit your taste. For example, you may like to top cut at a size 10 bust but have it wider at the hips, so grade to a size 14.

Don’t feel restricted! Play around. Make a toile and test fit!

Can I copy, distribute, or re-sell my Drape & Stitch pattern?

We strive towards building our loving sewing community, and fully support at home sewists who use our patterns to re-sell as garments. Please fully reference Drape & Stitch in all communications that involve our patterns, so we can share the love!
